Fall has arrived and it’s time to get things cleared up before winter hits. ACAP Saint John has some amazing prizes to give away to citizens who help cleanup our waterways, coastlines, and greenspaces! 

How Do I Take Part?

✔ Whenever you or your family are out walking, hiking, camping or biking in the Greater Saint John area -- take a garbage bag with you.

✔ cleanup any litter or debris you find.

✔ Post a picture or selfie with your haul, and the location on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #PortCityPickup and tag @ACAPSJ.

That’s it?

It’s that simple!

Each week for the month of october we will have a random draw for some fantastic swag.

We will draw for the grand prize on friday, october 30th 2020.

Get your pics in before october 29 to be entered for the weekly draw.

What do I do with the garbage I collect?

Please bring your bagged garbage with you.

Find a public garbage can to dispose of it.

Or bring it back home to be disposed with your residence’s garbage.

Don't Forget!

ACAP Saint John encourages all of its volunteers to stay safe, so we always recommend wearing protective gloves when picking up trash.

We remind everyone to take care while handling litter or debris, and please do not pick up needles, medical waste or sharp objects on your own, let us know the location rather than removing them yourself. 

Covid-19

We know that COVID-19 is probably on your mind. We have been encouraged by our government to still get outside, stay active and enjoy the fresh air during this stressful time. While participating in the #PortCityPickup Challenge, please respect social distancing practices, stay at least 2 meters (6 feet) away from other people, and do not gather in crowds. To decrease your risk of exposure, we recommend this activity for people living within the same household.

Please only participate in this contest if you are:

• are symptom-free

• have not recently traveled outside the Atlantic Bubble

• have not been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
