Join ACAP SJ for a hands-on mini-forest planting at Mark Dr! Together, we'll help grow a dense, native forest using the Miyawaki Method that is known for growing 10x faster and packing in far greater biodiversity than a typical planting.

What to Expect:
The Miyawaki Method involves densely planting a wide variety of native tree, shrub, and plant species close together, mimicking a natural forest's layered structure. This approach helps the forest grow rapidly and become self-sustaining within just a few years, all while creating a rich, resilient habitat for local pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. Participants will work together to plant this site using only native species, chosen for their ability to thrive in these conditions while giving back so much more to the surrounding ecosystem.

No experience necessary, and all planting materials will be provided!

What to Bring:

• Closed-toe shoes or work boots

• Appropriate clothing for the weather

• Water and snacks

• Sun protection (sunscreen, hats, etc.)

• Bug spray and/or bug net

• Your enthusiasm and energy!!
