2025 Thinking Water

This report summarizes the findings from ACAP Saint John’s 2025 Thinking Water project, which aims to assess the general water quality of streams within the Saint John and surrounding area, including tributaries of the Wolastoq (St. John River) and the Saint John Harbour. Over the past thirty years, ACAP Saint John’s water quality monitoring program has provided valuable insights into the health of our waterways. Given the long history of human and industrial influences within the city, this long-term dataset is vital for tracking changes internally and externally through researchers, other organizations, and government bodies to celebrate the improvements observed and keep an eye on waterbodies in decline.
