Belmont Street Planting
Sunday, Oct 14, 2026
06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Belmont St., Saint John
Join ACAP SJ for a hands-on rain garden planting at Belmont Street! Together, we'll help build a piece of green infrastructure that filters stormwater, reduces flooding, and brings native biodiversity right into the neighbourhood.
What to Expect:
A rain garden is a shallow, planted area designed to capture and filter stormwater runoff before it reaches our sewers and waterways. Participants will work together to plant this site using only native species, chosen not just because they thrive in these conditions, but because they also attract local pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.
No experience necessary, and all planting materials will be provided!
What to Bring:
Closed-toe shoes or work boots
Appropriate clothing for the weather
Water and snacks
Sun protection (sunscreen, hats, etc.)
Bug spray and/or bug net
Your enthusiasm and energy!!
See y'all at the planting!
